Who we are

Lela Music Group is a trading name of Ella Entertainment LTD, 195 Holloway Road, London N7 8DJ, United Kingdom. We run the website at lelamusicgroup.com and the Lela artist app, and we decide how your data is used. This policy explains what we keep about artists, applicants and staff, and why.

What we keep

  • Your account: name, email and your password (stored only as a protected login, never readable by us).
  • Your profile: legal name, stage name and country.
  • Your application: artist name, genre, a short bio and any song or video you send. If you apply on the website or through our Telegram bot, also your phone number, social links and gender if you give them.
  • Work you send: titles, genre, your offer, price and share, delivery links, artwork and files.
  • Your contracts: the details a contract asks for, such as your address, phone or ID number, and your typed or drawn signature. We also keep a signing record: when you viewed and signed, your IP address and your device or browser type.
  • Your money: royalty statements, advances, receipts, payment records and the signed copies you send. When you ask to withdraw, the payment details you type, such as your bank name and account number or your mobile money number.
  • YouTube channels: if you ask Lela to manage a channel, its owner name, link, audience figures and copyright history.
  • Messages and reports: problems and questions you send from the app, and our replies.
  • ID check: before you sign a contract you verify your ID with our partner Didit. Didit handles your ID photo and selfie; we give Didit only a reference number for you, and we keep only the result (approved, in review or declined) and when it was decided.
  • What the ID check uses on your phone: with your permission it uses the camera and microphone for your ID photos and a short selfie video, your location to help confirm who you are, and, if you choose, your phone’s NFC to read the chip in your passport or ID card. Lela uses the camera and your photos only for what you choose to send, such as signed receipts.
  • Face ID or fingerprint: your phone checks this itself when you confirm a withdrawal. Lela never receives it.
  • On your phone: your login, your language and whether you have seen the introduction. Your login is kept in your phone’s secure storage.
  • Security records: a log of important actions (for example who approved a payment) and basic request data used to stop abuse.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and it does not read your contacts.

Why we use it

To review applications, prepare and sign contracts, pay royalties, keep accurate finance records, answer your reports, and keep accounts secure. Most of this is needed to carry out our contract with you or to get ready for one. We keep finance records because the law requires it, and security records to protect accounts and stop abuse. The ID check runs only when you choose to start it.

Who can see it

Lela staff see only what their role needs. These companies help us run the service:

  • Amazon Web Services: stores our data in the EU (Ireland), and runs logins and emails.
  • Didit: runs ID checks.
  • Telegram: staff get a Telegram alert about each new application, with your name, stage name and country. If you apply through our Telegram bot, your messages also pass through Telegram.
  • Google: Lela connects YouTube accounts with read-only access to get views and earnings for royalty statements.
  • Cloudflare: the website’s application form can use its security check.
  • Banks and mobile money providers: the one that makes your payment receives what it needs to pay you.

Some of these companies may handle data outside the UK and EU. We share data with anyone else only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account and application details are kept while you work with Lela. Contracts, royalties, receipts and payment records are kept for as long as finance and tax law require, even after an account is deleted. Database backups are kept for 35 days and server logs for one month.

Your choices

  • Delete your account any time in the app: Profile → Delete my account. Your login is removed straight away. How deleting works.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct, delete or limit it, at support@lelamusicgroup.com.
  • Turn off camera, photos, microphone, location or NFC in your phone’s settings. The ID check or sending photos may then not work.
  • If you are unhappy with how we use your data, tell us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
